The earliest memory I have designing something was in fifth grade. I must have shown signs of artistic ability because I was assigned the task to design wooden barrels out of construction paper to decorate our homeroom door. Why wooden barrels? I have no idea. I think it had something to do with what we were learning or some activity. From there, my elementary design career skyrocketed to bigger things, like teacher’s chalkboard writer, to creating yearbook cover designs.
Not including those very influential years, I’ve been a professional designer for nearly 18 years. I’m a Magna Cum Laude graduate from The Ohio State University where I received a BS in Visual Communication Design. During that time, I was given a scholarship by the design department to take part in a foreign exchange design program in Switzerland. Since then, I’ve spent the majority of my time in the agency/communication-world designing for mom-n-pop shops to Fortune 500 companies. Currently, I’m a proud supporter and the Graphic Artist for Northeast Ohio’s local public media organization, ideastream, which manages WVIZ/PBS, 90.3 WCPN and WCLV Classical 104.9.
I’m defined by my heritage, my family, my new-found love for cats and my passion for good design in everything.
